The eyeRadar is a digital eye-tracking tool designed to provide a rapid assessment of eye movement patterns during reading. Its high negative predictive value can offer reassurance to students and parents by helping to rule out significant visual factors that may affect reading performance. Most importantly, thanks to the accuracy and repeatability of its measurement parameters, eyeRadar can support the development of a personalised approach to addressing each student’s specific reading challenges.

Our specialist optometrist has extensive experience working with children and ensures a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for every patient. Each appointment is conducted at a relaxed pace, with the optometrist taking time to explain the tests and equipment to help reduce any anxiety.
A professional recommendation is provided on the day of the assessment, and the eyeRadar results along with the final plan are discussed in detail during a follow-up online appointment 2–3 days later.

Research suggests that using a coloured overlay in front of printed text may help reduce symptoms of visual stress and improve reading comfort for some individuals, although the evidence remains mixed. Meares-Irlen Syndrome (also referred to as visual stress) has been reported more frequently among people with reading difficulties. Commonly associated symptoms include glare from the page, headaches or migraines, movement of letters or words, eye strain, and fatigue. A comprehensive eye examination is essential to rule out underlying visual problems and to determine whether additional support may be beneficial.
